Neel S. Vaidya, MD, MPH, MBA was born in New Jersey and raised in central Ohio. Dr. Vaidya completed both his Bachelor of Science and Medical degrees at The Ohio State University where he was enrolled in the accelerated honors BS/MD program.
A Passionate Surgeon
Dr. Vaidya is passionate about providing medical and surgical care for patients with a variety of ophthalmologic diseases, with a specific interest in corneal transplantation and refractive surgery. Dr. Vaidya also has an interest in disorders of the eyelid and oculoplastic surgery as well. Dr. Vaidya’s research interests include optimizing endothelial keratoplasty techniques, evaluating new treatments for dry eye and other ocular surface diseases, and evaluating refractive outcomes in patients undergoing cataract surgery. Dr. Vaidya has published several articles in several well-respected peer-review journals, has served as a reviewer for journal articles and research grants, co-authored book chapters, and has presented at national medical conferences. He maintains a faculty appointment at Rush University Medical Center and is commited to training the next generation of ophthalmologists.
In his spare time, Dr. Vaidya enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter, playing golf and tennis, and exploring Chicago’s premier restaurant scene.
