Chicago Cornea Consultants™’s doctors were among the authors, (along with other Rush faculty), of two presentations at the annual meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) in Seattle. This is THE premier international eye research meeting.
One study, first-authored by Dr. Anjali Tannan, entitled “Utility of Intra-operative Wavefront Aberrometry in post-refractive cataract patients” described the results of a new instrument utilized during cataract surgery. This instrument, the “ORA”, also recently acquired by Highland Park Hospital, enables the surgeon to more precisely fine-tune the intraocular lens implant power and astigmatism treatment during the surgical procedure itself. This is particularly important in patients who have previously undergone LASIK surgery.
